Good morning! :smile Well, I can't blame Tom for me being up early this time. :shutup

Tom made it safely to Nebraska and didn't have much new to pass on to me, well, a few things, but.... :waiting He said they're all taking it minute by minute. Thanks for everybody's good thoughts. :muchlove

Linda, Tom Hatchet? :shutup The comment by the news person was funny, I agree, though, that his 2 victims didn't find it so. :cry

quilts, I've been seeing that snake story on tv all the time now. What a horrible thing. :cry :cuss

I have a feeling that Karen's not going to be happy with the rainy weather either, Anni. Gosh, you guys have really been having a rotten Summer, weatherwise. :tomato :tomato And no doubt Sherri's got a few choice words for it, as well. :waiting

Judy, did you and Mac make it outside? :huh Stevey was very despondent yesterday, not only was Tom gone but it started raining and rained a lot! :smack He finally just went out in the rain. :lol I wasn't real pleased, as I'd given both dogs a bath earlier. :waiting It's still really dark out, so I guess that means cloudy, and I smell more rain. I'm wondering how the walk will go... :hmm

Patty, what did you and Sherry do? :huh

I really like my haircut! :2thumbs And got to talk books with my person, too. :clap

Janet, how was the flea market, etc? :huh

flashy, how was work? Any stories? :huh

I cleaned like a lunatic yesterday, and will finish today, as well as make a quick trip to the store. The puzzle got worked on, but not very much. :smile

Linda, wait until you see the puppy of the day today. :muchlove

Jill, what's going on with you and Sunshine? :huh And, have you been buying those lottery tickets faithfully? We're counting on you. :biggrin

Get ready for fireworks! :hug

Good morning! :2thumbs It's another dark, dreary morning here. It's rained so much in the past couple of days that I can't even imagine there's any rain left. :smack Today's supposed to be another iffy day, but they're saying that the weekend may be okay. :fingers People here are really starting to lose it (I know I am anyway, LOL. :wink )

The concert was fun the other day. We saw 38 Special, REO Speedwagon, and Styx. We were laughing that it's a concert for old people, like us. :wink It's funny because they were carding for beers and the lady behind me said, "They really don't have to card anyone at this concert." We were amazed at the amount of energy the performers had on stage. REO, in particular, said they've been performing since the Nixon days. That's a long time!

The kids did well on their own, so that was nice. :2thumbs Matt came through and got the boys dinner and breakfast.

We're still contemplating on whether, or not, to head to the Cape for the weekend. :hmm The boys are counting on it, so we'll most likely be going.

Barb, I'm sorry to hear about Tom's dad. :cry I'm glad that he was able to go to be with his family.

I'm sorry about Ann. :cry That sounds so painful. I'm glad she's okay. :muchlove

Jill, how's your back feeling?

Janet, how was the flea market? Did you find any treasures?

Anni, I hope that it doesn't rain today, for both of our sakes! :fingers

Have a great day! :muchlove

Good Morning! :smile

Of course I had to check out the Daily Puppy to take a peek at Riley. What a cute puppy. :muchlove

Barb, that guy's name is Two Hatchet, not Tom, and he killed one woman not two. The guys already in enough trouble with the one murder.

I'm glad Tom made it to Nebraska safely and before his dad died. Is he in a coma? When both Bill's mother and brother died, it wasn't apparent that they knew we were there; but the medical staff assured us that they could hear us and knew we were with them. In fact we were told to leave the room for about 10-20 minutes every hour or so becasue some patients refuse to die when a loved one is in the room with them. I hope Tom's dad finds that perfect peace soon. :hug

Karen, the concert sounded like fun. I hope the skies clear and you get to enjoy a great time at the Cape. :fingers

Abuelo's was really good. I ordered a slice of Tres Leche cake for dessert not knowing they were bringing me some flan in honor of my birthday. I had one bite of the cake and brought it on home.

Bill even watched "The Notebook" with me last night....one of my favorite romantic movies. :heart :cry :heart

Our neighborhood is having its own fireworks show tonight. Homeowners made contriibutions and they'll buy as much as they can depending on the amount of money collected. Last year's show was great! Professionals are hired to do the shooting and the fire department brings out a truck just in case.

Have a great pre-4th of July! :hug

Good morning,

I didn't sleep the best last night. My back is still hurting. I just took some advil and am moving slowing. I hope this doesn't last too long, I had plans for the weekend.

I had wanted to go shopping today and see what's out there in tv/media cabinets or stands. My dad wants to go out to eat tomorrow. Jamie has to work Saturday so we are waiting to hear from her and see if she would be free on Sunday instead.

I also still haven't had the change to pick up Finger Lickin' Fifteen. I hope to at least get to the bookstore. My cousin called and wants to see Public Enemy sometime this weekend too. The majority of it was filmed in Wisconsin.

I too need a haircut badly. I stretched this one out too long. I should have make the appt in 6 weeks but instead set it for 8 weeks. I called on Wednesday to see if she had an opening or a cancellation so I could move up. Nada. I hope I can make it until Tuesday without pulling out the scissors on my bang area.

Karen, the concert sounded like fun. I loved the music from all 3 bands. Who would have thought 20-30 years ago you'd see them all perform on one night. One concert. I hope you get to the Cape. Relax and enjoy. Posted Image

Linda, your birthday treats/desserts sound so tasty. Posted Image

Barb, I'm working on the Lottery. Hang tight! Good luck with your dog walk. Posted Image

Linda, your neighborhood fireworks show sounds nice. :2thumbs

Jill, sorry that your back is still bothering you. :cry I hope that it feels better and that you're able to get out and have some fun this weekend. :fingers

I picked up Finger Lickin' 15 the other day and it's on my list to read if we make it to the beach this weekend.

Work. Work. Work. The day was busy early then started to peter off. I think the holiday has finally taken over...and I would assume the traffic to slow down through the store. No stories. :eek I work all weekend with HOTDOGS expected for today and CHICKEN over the weekend. But WallyWorld chicken is gawd awful.

ROYAL PAIN was a repeat. So all I have to watch on tape will be 2 hours of ATWT.

The FOURTH FIREWORKS in town has been at the park next to the community college...and traffic is always the biggest issue in and out and around that area. The exits are just not designed for even a basketball crowd.

Have a happy 4th of July.

I have been reading PERRY MOORE's "HERO". It is a written graphic novel...sort of like a book written where someone would WANT to make a comic book using it as a back drop. Alot of strange superheroes and a country that even had to make a law where if you tried to be a superhero that you had to have a special power. Of course the ONE wannabe superhero that the book is centered on is discovering his sexuality. I give it a 10 on a 10 scale.

AND...a 6.0 earthquake in the BAJA of CALI...it appeared to be right near a vacation spot that I truly enjoyed. I will have to research it....

Good Morning! That's my cheerful comment for the day....darn weather is getting to me, too. Wet, humid, cloudy...bleck! :pullhair OK, now that's out of my system...

I have Today news on. Does anyone watch America's Got Talent? I'm hit or miss but did catch the farmer/chicken catcher the other night. Today just reshowed him...I hope he does well.

Not sure what today will be. We had plans but I don't want to go with icky weather...we may this afternoon...just up to Lake Erie area/national parks etc...nice stuff that needs sun imo.

Started another puzzle last night...a 550 piece we had. I'm holding off on the 1,000 ones until I have my helper back home :shutup

The market place stuff was fun yesterday although a bit crowded. It's huge place. We bought mainly from the farmer's market...good stuff :2thumbs

Barb, I'm glad Tom made it OK. And good luck with the morning walk.

Karen, I'm glad you had a good time...and the kids did well :biggrin I hope it works out for you to go to the cape.

Linda, double dessert! That's a good birthday :2thumbs And getting Bill to watch your favorite movie? I'm impressed.

Jill, I'm sorry about your back. I hope it goes away and quick. Wish you lived closer...I'd drop off my copy of Finger Lickin' 15.

Flashy, good luck with work. I hope it's busy enough to keep you entertained.
~Janet~

Day before the 4th...not much going on. I'm going to do some work, Craig and Mitch are going golfing and Ali is at work this a.m. Sunny weather for now, but our forecast is iffy for the weekend. Ball games tonight and then our area fireworks. Tomorrow there is a parade in town and the kids will march in the band. Seniors don't have too, but Ali said she will for the fun of it. The band director will be happy because she is the loudest trombone.

Karen, I would have LOVED to go to that concert. Those are all bands I listened to in high school. I like what the person said about carding at that concert! :lol :lol Sorry about your weather. We had a lot of that too up until a few days ago. It's making this summer seam really short, which I do not like!

Barb, glad Tom made it safely to NE.

I thought I'd post photos of some of my newest creations to show you all what it is I do! Have a great day and a great 4th of July!

It was a nice day yesterday. Sherry and I went to Home Depot for her to get some paint. We just went through the paint department (it's a massive store). I used the shopping cart like a walker to get me around. It did hurt but I made it through. I really wish the pain would lessen more. Then over to Sherry's to eat lunch and play with the puppies. We had a good time.

I think it's just going to be an at home day today. Nothing really planned. This is the day the federal holiday is observed so not much is going on (except sales at the shopping malls which I can't go to). It feels a little cooler today, I think it's going to the low 80s.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Wow! Let's see how well I do remembering what you all posted. I sure dropped the ball on the Two Hatchett stuff, didn't I? :shutup :lol :lol Oops.....

Jill, I love those smileys! :2thumbs I sure hope your back starts cooperating. Darned backs, I guess we should all still be getting around on 4 legs, shouldn't we? :waiting

Linda, I love that cake, and flan, too, of course. :eat That was sweet of Bill to watch The Notebook with you. :heart

quilts, I :heart your quilts. :biggrin

Patty, as Jill said, playing with puppies is great medicine. :muchlove

Karen, glad you had a good time at the concert. One of my sisters was at a Rolling Stones concert awhile back and was amazed at how much energy the performers had! :eek

I'm reading Fingerlickin' 15 now and have been laughing out loud. Janet, was it you who said you will always think of ribs in a different way now? :shutup I will, too.....

flashy, our Walmart makes good chicken, well, better than our City Market. They used to sell fried gizzards, too. :eat

The dog walk was okay. Skeeters were out, though. It wasn't one of our super long walks, but should get them through the day. :biggrin

Tom called right before we left. His dad died last night at 11:14pm, peacefully. :muchlove Linda, I don't think he was exactly in a coma, but maybe, he was just not responsive. They're getting busy trying to figure out what kind of arrangements to make that will work for everybody, don't know anything yet, really. I won't be going back there, at least that's the way it stands now. :hmm I'm glad that he went quickly and gently. :heart

Your quilts are beautiful! :2thumbs

Jill, I'm so sorry your back is still hurting. :hug Hope it doesn't get so bad that you feel like crawling to the bathroom. :shutup

Janet, I'm so sorry your weekend is going to be a washout. Have you got mold growing between your toes yet?

Patty, I'm glad you had a good time with Sherry and the puppies.

Barb, I'm glad Tom's dad didn't linger any longer than he did. It's almost as if he were waiting for Tom to show up. :hug :hug
