Goood morning! :smile I've become fixated on that slogan, "That's some bad hat, Harry!" that they show at the end of some tv shows, along with the credits, or whatever... of course now I also put my own spin on it, and use it constantly. It will no doubt be showing up in my siggy at some point. :lol I can be so suggestible! I love those offbeat things at the end of shows. Saw one last night where they have the torso of a person with no face/head and where the face should be are the words, "your face gos here"... :lol :lol :lol

Another blissful tv night last night, seriously. 2 back to back L&O CI's, I watched the first, recorded the second so I could watch my beloved True Blood, which was just outstanding! :woot :woot I am loving that I remember parts from the books when they come up in the episodes..... :clap Man,that vamp Eric is hot.... :shutup And it's a funny show, too... last night I cracked up when somebody, I think Eric, said about someone, "He is not a fan of the fang!" :devil Ah well, I guess you guys know I love the show. :biggrin And then there was In Plain Sight.... :2thumbs What more could I ask? :huh

Sherri, that Cooper is a little doll, isn't he? I want him, too. :lol Linda, I love the way he sits, that's the way our Toomuchy sits, sidesaddle.... :heart

Sherri, sorry the news about Lea isn't better. :cry How hard that must be.

I thought of you the other day when I saw this handheld scale to weigh your suitcases at home. They also have accessories for it to weigh bags and things that don't have handles and loose things. Tom was making sure to stress to me that no, we don't need to buy that, as we seldom fly anywhere. :lol

Sounds more and more like that Billy Mays may have died from the same thing that killed Natasha Richardson on the ski slope. :hmm

Gonna work in the neighborhood gardens a little bit today, very carefully... :biggrin

Library called, and I can pick up Fingerlickin' Fifteen! :woot

Take it easy and slide on into the week! :hug

Good moaning! :2thumbs I'm moaning here today, not only because it's Monday, but it's raining again!! :pullhair This weather is really getting old. I'm starting to believe that forecaster that predicted no summer for the Northeast. In fact, I told Brian that we'd better book a trip somewhere for our vacation next month if this is how it's going to be.

The birthday party yesterday turned out fine. The weather held out, so the kids were able to go outside, which was a good thing, since there were lots of little kids there.

Erin's home for a dentist appt. today. She said it'll be nice to have a real shower, without having to wear flip flops. :wink

I heard that about Billy Mays. It's pretty scary. My boys will especially miss him, since they're into infomercials. Timmy's always telling me what I need to buy.

Barb, good luck with the gardening today. Take it easy! :wink

Sherri, I'm sorry to hear about Lea. :cry

Have a fun trip. I hope that the weather improves for you. :fingers

Have a great day! :muchlove

Good Morning! :smile

It feels wonderful outside this morning....a cool 68. The sun is shining and I don't see any clouds in our sky.

I just heard that San Antonio is about to go into stage 3 water rationing which means watering your lawn every other week and only between 3:00 am to 8:00 am or 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Too bad there's no way to send all of the rain the northeast is getting down to the drought-stricken areas.

This afternoon we have an appointment to get our second Hepatitis A vaccination. Bill also needs to start the Hep B series. We are still planning on going on a mission trip to Peru next summer, and several vaccinations have been recommended.

We finally watched last week's "The Closer". It was so hard seeing her have to put Kitty to sleep. :cry :cry

Barb, don't overdo it today when you're working in the gardens.

Karen, I'm glad the weather cooperated for the birthday party.

Have a good Monday! :hug

Morning!

With all the bad weather in the NE, I'm afraid to say our weather has been really nice lately. mid 70s, breezy and sunny. It's supposed to be this way all week with temps gradually getting into lower 80s and no humidity. Hopefully, we'll have nice weather for the 4th, which I can't believe is already this Saturday!

Both kids are up and out working. Mitch is "picking rock" at a friend's farm east of town. This is when they walk through the corn and soybean fields and pick large rocks and load then into bins. This is so the combines don't run into them during harvest and get damaged. I think Mitch is happy to do it because of the $$$$. Ali is at her normal job at the hardware store.

We have games every night this week and there is also a JV double header tomorroww during the day. Not sure if I can make it to that one since I need to get work done. We have the two top teams again in the conference this week for the girls. Hopefully we'll be able to get an unexpected win.

I was really shocked about Billy Mays' death. I really think it had something to do with getting hit on the head. Those head injuries are really dangerous!

Well, need to get going and get some work done. Have a great day all!

Happy PostFamdamilyReunion Monday....!!!

I had a good time and okay food at the reunion. Being the MIDDLE PERSOn between generations...I did not feel so left out as I have had in the past. My COUSINS took time to talk about life...and I approached my nieces and nephews and they responded in kind.

One of the HORRID MEMORIES that I had from an earlier reunion was returning from my first job after college graduation after receiving HUGE PAY INCREASES...making more $$$$ than most of my cousins and siblings and then being placed at the little kids table to eat.

Yesterday....

Walking into a CLEAN HOUSE at my Mom's...there was NO FOOD. The usual food preparations...the pies and cakes sitting around to be eaten...hadn't arrived yet....so that was a great shock and it turned out to be a good way to enjoy each other's company and not worry about FOOD.

This was a reunion of my DAD's side of the family. My DAD had twin brothers and two older sisters. One of his sisters was his TEACHER in grade school...so my DAD was about 12-15 years younger than his next sibling.

The strangest thing is that one of my DAD's twin brother's SON....is the ONE GUY that freakily looks exactly like my FATHER.

It was a good day.

I need to catch up with yesterday's news.....and I think laundry and ??? will be in the cards for me today.

Have a great Monday and week everyone!!!

PICKING ROCK.... :lol It is funny how rocks just seem to slide out through the topsoil of large fields. We would always attempt to load the tractor sides when working the soil prior to planting...then memorizing where the bigger boulders were for pickup when the seedlings were emerging.

I always made the BIG BUCKS "WALKING BEANS"...where we would pull each weed in the soybean fields. Now the herbicides really do that job incredibly well.

The other point with SOYBEANS...most farmers now just DRILL SOYBEANS more thickly...thus hardly any rows to walk down...and the soil preparation does not turn over the previous year's stubble (after harvest). That has been one the strangest things to get used to after living in the city for 20 years. To think that SOYBEANS are pushing their way up amongst CORN STALKS from last year. It almost seems blasphemous.

Waiting for the nurse for a blood draw this morning. I'll be glad when I can stop taking Coumadin. Will have to wait until her visit to decide what I'll do today. Sherry wanted to stop over so I could take a ride with her. Hopefully the nurse will be here soon.

It's a pleasant sunny day today but I'm not opening the windows as Monday is mowing day at the condo and it's very noisy.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Seems like most of yesterday news was the weather....and after having high 90s and thick enough humidity that you can slice it with a knife....

Sunday in Central Illinois...the weather could not have been more beautiful. A windy day...with low 80s and reasonable humidity. The wind might blow things one way or another, especially my mom's hair :lol but it just felt so refreshing. We had 30 people eating in the garage...most people enjoyed resting under the awning out of the sun on the back deck....BEAN BAG TOSS was the game of choice. I tossed a few and my % of hitting the HOLE with the bags was about 30%. I thought that was pretty good!!! Then I smelled the BEAN BAGS...and I could smell the SOYBEANS that had to be inside...

Havested SOYBEANS...DUST....was one of the things I really allergic to in the FALL....

And I am definitely NOT a "Fan of the FANG".

Craig always did the "walking the beans" job too. They also did corn de-tasseling which a lot of the kids still do around here in late July. They make a lot of money doing that in a short period of time.
